Barflies Bars aim to provide a fully stocked bar for each event. Clearly, space and transport logistics prevent us from exactly replicating what you may find in a large pub or restaurant, but we discuss requirements in advance, and are confident of catering for most tastes. We also aim to keep our prices at or below those you would find at an average pub.
DRINKS
DRAUGHT BEERS
Our "default" bitters are keg products, which come in 11 gallon containers, and are dispensed by gas pressure, through ice bank coolers, to "T bars" on the counter. We normally bring either:
GREENE KING or JOHN SMITHS or WORTHINGTON
Over the last few years. there has been a resurgence of interest in traditional (real) ales. Being an independent company, Barflies Bars are able to source a variety of real ales from national, regional, local and micro breweries.
As normally delivered, real aleas need to be sited and left undisturbed for 24 to 48 hours before use. However, some are available as "racked bright", meaning they can be taken to a function and dispensed straight away. This is convenient for events where prior access to the venue is not possible.
Real ales have a very short shelf-life, and it is not normally possible for us to utilize part barrels at subsequent events. We therefore ask for a deposit (in line with the wholesale price of the product) if real ales are requested. This is refunded in full, provided the specially ordered stock is sold.
DRAUGHT LAGERS
Our "default" lagers are dispensed in the same way as our draught beers. We normally bring either:
CARLING or FOSTERS or STELLA ARTOIS
DRAUGHT CIDER
Our "default" ciders are dispensed from kegs for larger events, and from 500ml cans for smaller occasions. We generally bring either:
BULMERS STRONGBOW or WESTONS STOWFORD PRESS
"DRAUGHT" GUINNESS
Upto now, we have generally provided "Guinness Draught" in 500ml cans, as demand for stout has rarely been sufficient to justify buying and transporting 11 gallon kegs. However, we are now awaiting delivery of the new "Guinness Surge" device, which uses ultrasound waves to replicate the creamy head associated with the perfect pint of draught Guinness. Obviously, where a specific event justifies the use of kegs, we have the necessary dispense equipment and would be happy to oblige.
BOTTLED ALCOHOLIC DRINKS
In our experience, demand for bottled alcoholic drinks fluctuates enormously, and drinks that are popular today may be virtually unsaleable in six months' time. Hence, we find it best to discuss with clients their guests' likely preferences, so that we can be sure to stock appropriate brands. BUDWEISER, SMIRNOFF ICE and WKD BLUE are always stocked.
SPIRITS
We aim to stock a variety of standard spirits; BELLS WHISKY, GORDONS GIN, SMIRNOFF VODKA, BRANDY, BACARDI, DARK RUM, MALIBU, ARCHERS, JACK DANIEL'S, SOUTHERN COMFORT, BAILEYS, TIA MARIA, SAMBUCA AND TEQUILA always feature in our offering, together with SWEET and DRY MARTINI and CINZANO. Other spirits can be added on request.
WINES
Our house red, rose, medium white and dry white wines are sourced for us by Malpas Stallard Ltd, one of the midlands' longest established wine importers and merchants. These are good quality wines, offered for sale at very competitive prices (see our price list). However, Malpas Stallard have cellars full of every conceivable type of wine, so, working in tandem with them, we are able to cater for all tastes (at different prices of course!).
SOFT DRINKS
Still and sparkling water, diet and ordinary COCA-COLA or PEPSI-COLA, LEMONADE, SODA WATER, RED BULL, TONIC WATER, GINGER ALE, BITTER LEMON, SLIMINES, APPLE TANGO, J20 (2 flavours) and FRUIT JUICES are always in stock. Other soft drinks, including FRUIT SHOOT for children can be added on request.
ANCILLARY ITEMS
Cordials (lime, blackcurrant and orange) are always available, as are fruit slices and ice. We also provide straws and stirrers.

Barflies Bars can provide a range of drinks to be offered to guests on arrival. These can be provided at minimal cost (typically £1.50 - £2.00 per glass). Apart from wine, sparkling wine and champagne, popular choices are:
