Barflies Bars are willing and able to provide licensed mobile bars for a whole raft of charitable and fund-raising events. Both indoor and outdoor functions can be covered.
Many charities rely upon fund-raising for their very existence. Barflies Bars have been pleased to provide licensed bars for functions supporting cancer charities, British Heart Foundation, respite homes, "Race for Life" and many others. Sports events, live music evenings, barn dances, discos and themed activities are amongst those we have covered in the past.
Here at Barflies Bars, we pride ourselves on offering real value for money, with our range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks being offered for sale at or below normal "lounge bar" prices (see "drinks and prices"). Because of this, our profit margin is not substantial. Nevertheless, for genuine charity events, we are nearly always prepared to pay a percentage of our takings to the chosen charity or charities.
For those events catering for more than 100 adult guests, and other smaller functions where our bar takings reach or exceed £400, we will pay 10% of our gross takings to the relevant charity.
A word of caution, when comparing mobile bar operators. Some companies state that they will pay a percentage of profits to charity. This means their expenses are taken into account before any division of revenue. At Barflies Bars, we pay charities a percentage of what goes into our tills, and meet all the expenses from our share.
