Barflies Bars are always happy to tailor their offering to exactly match your requirements for a special occasion. Pay bars, contract bars (free drinks for guests) and financially controlled bars are popular options.
Barflies Bars are completely flexible in their approach to providing facilities that exactly match your requirements. Before the special event, we will sit down with you to make sure there are no overlooked details. Below are some popular options:
PAY BARS
The majority of the bars we provide are pay bars, where guests at the function purchase their drinks from the bar, in the same way as they would at a pub or restaurant. This reduces the cost to function organisers, and gives guests the opportunity to drink as much or as little as they like.
For many occasions, there will be no charge whatsoever for providing a licensed and fully functional bar at your function (see "how much will it cost"), and drinks are offered for sale at or below normal "lounge bar" prices (see "drinks and prices).
CONTRACT BARS
There are occasions where you would like a fully stocked bar, with all the choices this provides, but do not want your guests to have to pay for their drinks. Barflies Bars are happy to provide this facility, and will reduce their drink prices slightly, to reflect not only the potential cost to the organiser, but also the reduced workload through no cash handling.
Popular for "society" weddings, contract bars involve a pre-payment per guest, with any surplus or deficit settled after the event.
Generally, if you are happy to arrange and manage the bar yourself, it is a far cheaper option to obtain your drinks from a wholesaler, on a "sale or return" basis (Malpas Stallard of Worcester for example), and to staff the bar from your own resources. However, using Barflies Bars will ensure you have a professional presence on the day, and free you to concentrate on other vital aspects of your event
FINANCIALLY CONTROLLED BARS
This is, in effect, a mixture of the two options detailed above.
Quite a lot of our wedding bookings involve this alternative, where the organisers wish to provide a certain amount of drink for their guests, want the choices associated with a fully stocked bar, but do not wish to enter the uncharted territory of having to foot the whole bill themselves.
Organisers can elect to either:
-
Pay for the first drink for each guest, where the cost of initial refreshment is rung into our tills separately, and the bill settled at the end of the function.
-
Pay a certain amount for "free" drinks for guests, with a pay bar operating after this pre-set limit has been reached. We keep the organisers regularly posted on how the cost is accumulating, giving them the opportunity to increase the limit slightly towards the end of the event, if appropriate.
-
Distribute Barflies vouchers, by guest or table, allowing a drink from the bar for each voucher. This ensures an equitable split of organisers' hospitality amongst guests, rather than favouring those with a gargantuan appetite!
ARRIVAL DRINKS
Whatever bar package you choose, Barflies Bars can provide a range of drinks to be offered to your guests on arrival. These can be provided at minimal cost (typically £1.50 - £2.00 per glass). Apart from wine, sparking wine and champagne, popular choices are:
Pimms with lemonade, mixed fruit, mint and ice
Royal Pimms (sparkling wine or champagne with a shot of Pimms)
Bucks Fizz (sparkling wine or champagne with fresh orange juice)
Kir Royale (sparkling wine or champagne with Cassis)
Mulled wine (seasonal)
